FOREWORD

This electronic edition of the Library Index is dedicated to collectors who seek to advance their knowledge of Scandinavian philately. The authors of books and journal articles, plus the compilers of material on subjects of our interest, are to be commended. Without them there would be no SCC Library. It is extremely gratifying that so many members sent copies of their exhibits or collections. Slide shows also have helped to stimulate interest especially for chapter meetings. Please remember no accumulation of reference material is of any value unless it is used. (W.E. Melberg, SCC Librarian, 1987-1999.)

LIBRARY RULES

  1. Library use will be limited to SCC members in good standing. Please provide your SCC membership number with your request.
  2. Borrowers are responsible for paying postage both to and from the SCC Library and for returning material in the same condition as received.
  3. Items must be returned within 30 days unless prior arrangements are made.
  4. Checks, cash or mint postage (USA) is acceptable to pay postal, photocopying, and handling charges.
  5. Mailings to SCC members outside the USA require special arrangements and may incur additional cost.

Our diverse membership reflects an interest in the countries of Åland, Aunus, the Danish West Indies, Denmark, the Faroes, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Karelia, North Ingermanland, Norway, Slesvig, and Sweden. We are affiliated with with the American Philatelic Society, the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, the Scandinavian Philatelic Foundation, and Norsk Filatelistforbund.

Requests for literature not found in the electronic index should include as much detail as possible. The volunteers who staff the Library will make a reasonable effort to fulfill such requests.
