Ólafsvík

The brefhirdhing is pictured. The merchant ship, Svanur (Swan), on the Iceland 50 kr stamp (Facit 700), titled, "Ólafsvik 1687-1987" regularly sailed between Ólafsvik and Copenhagen for 116 years (1777-1893). Ólafsvík had no port facilities so all cargo was rowed in or out.
